I run for the PUSD governing board because as a principal, teacher, and parent within our district I know we can do better. As a principal, I involved community members in decision making, challenged the status quo and focused on adding value to our community through service. I have served in PUSD for over ten years and I advocate for you to reach out to parents, teachers, and students who have worked with me and ask them what I bring to the table. I am confident that these personal references will convince you that I deserve to be your elected official within PUSD.
I run because change needs to start at the top. As a school principal, I made many changes to improve student performance and staff satisfaction. I am so proud of what we built together. However, change made within the boundaries of a single school only go so far, and systemic problems became a burden on site leadership and vision. As a result, I left the school district to take up leadership in a different district. This enables me to seek a seat at our governing board. I remain critical, inspired and vocal about educational policy within our district.
But most of all, I run for my own children, who live with me and attend school within our district. I run for them, as I run for every single student in all of our schools. I run for the parents of these kids, and I run for the community that has given me so much. This community deserves a leader who will be brave and speak up if we don’t see the results we deserve.

I run on Accountability and Community. Accountability starts with me and the concept of extreme ownership. I am accountable to you, by continuing to ask tough questions, increase transparency, and challenge the status quo. I will stand by my core values, as we work together for our community, and bring positive change to our school district.
Our school board members and educational leaders must be held accountable to our community, so that responsible decisions are made based on evidence and the interests of our community. There is no greater value for our community than an educational system that optimizes student success. To do this, we need to build connection, actively listen, engage every community member, and work together as a team.
Your contribution is so valued and we can't do this without you. Please support us - give today!
